Domain Expiration


It is critical to understand that a domain name has an expiration date.

  1. If a domain expires, your Web site will stop working. It doesn't mean your files are gone, but the domain name that is used to access your site will no longer refer traffic there.

  2. There is a period of time after a domain expires where you can still go back and renew it, in order to re-enable the name; however, ultimately if you do not renew the name, it will become available for other people to register.
